The company that owns the Martha Stewart Living brand, Marquee Brands, recently announced it’s partnering with other firms to develop real estate projects. A senator from Pennsylvania, Patrick Toomey, has proposed a bill in Congress that would allow people to withdraw up to $2,000 each year from their retirement accounts to pay for long-term care insurance. The funds could be withdrawn tax-free as long as they’ll be used to pay for long-term care insurance.

The University of Southern California has offered bachelor’s and master’s degrees in gerontology through its Leonard Davis School of Gerontology for several years. Now the university has added a master of arts program on Senior Living Hospitality starting this spring. The new program will offer a blended approach to hospitality and residential management for senior living environments.
